Development Director

JOB TITLE: Development Director    REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

STATUS: Full-Time Regular/Exempt    LOCATION: MO Campus

Summary:

The Development Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of St. Joseph Hearing + Speech by driving revenue growth, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding the network of supporters in the Missouri market. As a visible ambassador for the organization, the Development Director brings strong relationship-building expertise, a passion for mission-driven work, and a results-oriented mindset to help achieve ambitious revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Relationship Development

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with key community leaders, major donors, and corporate executives.

  • Engage C-suite leaders and corporate partners in meaningful ways that align their philanthropic interests with our mission.

  • Represent the organization at community events, networking engagements, and corporate meetings as a trusted and credible leader.

  • Expand and strengthen a portfolio of major donors and corporate sponsors.

Revenue Generation & Growth

  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.

  • Drive growth in individual giving and corporate partnerships.

  • Utilize strong consultative and relationship-based fundraising techniques to secure major gifts and long-term partnerships.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer to align development strategies with organizational priorities.

Data-Driven Fundraising

  • Analyze fundraising data and donor trends to inform strategy and improve performance.

  • Use CRM and reporting tools to monitor progress, identify opportunities, and increase productivity.

  • Continuously refine outreach and engagement efforts based on measurable outcomes.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner cross-functionally with program, marketing, finance and executive leadership to ensure cohesive messaging and donor engagement.

  • Serve as a thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer in advancing fundraising strategy and innovation.

  • Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission-centered development work.

  • Serve as the staff liaison to the Development Committee.

  • Ensure St. Joseph values and the Charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph are at the forefront of all internal and external communications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive fundraising or sales experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment.

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue goals.

  • Strong track record of building and cultivating relationships with senior-level corporate and community leaders.

  • Exceptional networking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience using fundraising databases/CRM systems, Raiser’s Edge preferred, and analyzing data to drive results.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for organizational business required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time and to move intermittently throughout the day.

  • Ability to work with office equipment, including computers, copiers, and phones.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
