St. Joseph's Preschool and Primary School programs help students transition into their locals schools with language and academic skills that match their typically hearing peers.
How We Help
St. Joseph's Auditory-Verbal Education program, hosted at the Indianapolis campus, places an emphasis on developing each student's auditory skills using their hearing technology. In the classroom, educators provide focused and individualized instruction through structured lesson plans and classroom activities. Our teachers and LSL providers combine standard academic instruction with intensive LSL intervention.

Daily LSL InterventionOur LSL providers are specially trained in building foundational listening skills to support speech and auditory development. All students in our Preschool/Primary School programs receive daily LSL intervention with a provider.

Experiential LearningFrom gardening to cooking lessons, our classrooms are full of hands-on activities and opportunities for language development.

Small Class SizesWith class sizes capped at ten students, each child receives a focused and individualized education.

MusicSt. Joseph collaborates with music and language experts to bring engaging musical experiences into the classroom.

Parent CoachingSt. Joseph's Listening and Spoken Language providers work alongside parents to teach LSL strategies, track progress, overcome challenges, and support the student's learning and development.
