We offer Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) services that help children with hearing loss learn to listen, speak, and read. Our approach is family-centered and grounded in research and best practices. We are committed to delivering the highest-quality services to the families we serve.

By combining family support, intervention services, and access to sound through hearing technology, Listening and Spoken Language teaches children with hearing loss to hear and speak just like their typically hearing peers.

Early Intervention Services

We partner with Indiana and Missouri First Steps to deliver LSL intervention and parent coaching services for babies age 0-3 and their families.

  • Our Early Intervention Specialists coach caregivers at home or in the community, using specialized strategies to help babies listen and talk with hearing technology. Services are available both in-person and through our iHear teletherapy service.

  • Indiana Campus: Little HEARoes Parent-and-Me Class

    Families attend 8 weekly sessions to learn listening and spoken language through singing and play. Guided by a certified Listening Spoken Language Specialist, parents practice LSL strategies. Parents and toddlers make new friends and develop listening and language skills.

  • Missouri Campus: Half-Day Toddler Class

    Our toddler class offers developmentally appropriate learning through the Molloy Family Center Toddler Class. Our skilled teachers engage students in activities that promote essential language and cognitive development for future success.

School-Age Services

Our goal is to close the language gap and give children the auditory, verbal, and academic skills they need to transition to their local school programs successfully. 

  • Hosted at the Indianapolis campus, our daily Auditory-Verbal Education program combines intensive LSL intervention with standard academic instruction for students ages 3-7. Students receive focused, individualized instruction and a comprehensive education that prepares them to succeed in their local schools.

  • We offer continued, specialized support once a child leaves our Early Intervention or Preschool & Primary School programs. Outreach Specialists assist families with the school transition, collaborate with local professionals to develop accommodations, and provide auditory and academic support where needed.

  • Professional Coaching

    Professional coaching & mentoring are essential for achieving success in Listening and Spoken Language. Our Outreach Specialists provide coaching and support to professionals working with students that use hearing technology to listen and speak.
